Hey Bobby:
I saw that your LP was commanding around $35 or more on Ebay.
Even after all these years the folks will still pay the top buck for something good.

Wow, that's unbelievable!!
I always viewed my ESC album as a total piece of garbage!!!
They wanted a "disco" album at the time and if it were totally up to me I would have made it a lot beter as in MFSB or even Salsoul.
The only song that I can listen to on there is Love Chant.
I cant believe that someone would actually want that album!!
Go figure.

Eli,
Give yourself more credit. I read somewhere that when the funk brothers cut "My Guy", they thought it would end up in the garbage. It ended up a million seller. Go Figure. Peace.

Being that you were the force behind ESC, it's no wonder you have your views about the album. Yet for us it's classic dance R&B music.
Give yourself credit, dude!

Jeez, thanks guys...
( as I sit here with my tail between my legs)
I guess that I should be thankful that I was given the opportunity to do an album of my own.
Its just that when I listen to a lot of my stuff in retrospect, sometimes I just want to cringe and say "what in the world was I thinking when I recorded that??"
Even Love wont let me wait(Majors) is just loping along and I just want to "give it a nudge"
But hey, go figure!!!

Hello Bobby:
I hope to God you where thinking I will give it my best shot and try the best I can.
Honestly, I just can't believe that you would diss your own stuff and other artist's for that matter too, just because it was associated with the Disco movement. Heck there would have been a big blank spot in your musical career with songs that I know I and others love if you had the same attitude then as you seem to be having now.
You did a good job then, it hasn't changed over time it is astill good.
Remember,I was good,... I am good,.. I can still be good,... I will always be good... lol
And that goes for anyother artist that looks back in time and think their stuff was not good.
Now for the clothes you wore back then Bobby??? I've got the MFSB lp with your picture on it and .... oh well I guess everybody dresses like that then. Have you seen my platform sandles???
Peace and Love dude

Hello Again:
I just read back my post and I want to make sure you understand I mean other artist talking about themselves, not you talking about them. When I wrote the line " you would diss your own stuff and other artist's for that matter"
SORRY for the possible confusion.

Dear Soulaholic,
I have an idea of what Bobby was talking about. Most people are the greatest critics of their own work. All of the greatest artists have been very critical of their own works, for example VanGogh and Matisse. Artists have criticised their own voices for example, Billy Holiday.
It is usually the fans such as you and I who can sit back and take an objective listen or look.
I was always a great student in school but I was always overly critical of my papers, most other persons would have been happy with the work I produced.
I believe this is where the addage, "We Are Our Worst Critics" comes from.
