OOOweee! This is just so fine - one of the best pix of Mary I've seen in ages.
Many, many thanks, Musicchef.

Now how do I order a copy?

Best wishes,
David.

I wish I had a picture of this. In 1981, I was taking an audio engineering class at P.S. Recording Studios in Chicago at the time that Mary Wells was cutting some tracks for the Epic LP that contained the single, "Gigolo." There was a little waiting area in the back just next to the control room. Mary was sitting on the sofa when one of the legs broke off and she fell tumbling to the floor. We all held our collective breaths for a second until Mary busted out laughing and we knew she was okay. Just another one of those moments that you had to be there to appreciate. Just like a well known Chicago arranger who was producing a session on The Dells at P.S. who suddenly got hot and started yelling at the guys to sing with more "attitude." He then stormed out of the building leaving everyone shrugging their shoulders. He came back about 10 minutes later. "I apologize for bein' a drag, y'all". The session then proceeded without further incident. The song, by the way was never finished.
