Since I'm getting MAD feedback about the images that I'm posting, I would like to ask if anyone here would be interested in writing articles or chapters for a book project involving the images I have access to or to even do a project here with the permission of the moderators. I don't think I'm going to find a better collection of the greatest soul minds in one place even if I tried to. I got some really popular people and some REAL obscure acts as well (anyone here ever hear of "Tex and the Chex") ?

Let me know if any of ya'll are interested

Musichef, do you have any photos of Detroit recording artists that were not with Motown?
Regards,
Graham

I prolly have a few, but "PoPsie" was based in Broadway and most of the people he has photos of had to pass thru NYC to get photographed. We have a GREAT Aretha portrait session from 1963 before she hit the "big time" (literaly).

I was wondering about some Detroit artists who flirted with fame and visited New York... such as The Falcons, The Volumes, Spyder Turner, Timmy Shaw, Dee Edwards, Deon Jackson, Lee Rogers, Cody Black, The Precisions, The Arabians, The Superlatives, The Fantastic Four, Tony Clark, Tony and Tyrone, J J Barnes and Carl Carlton.
Thanks,
Graham

If my memory serves me it was James J. Kriegsman who photographed Deon Jackson's glossys.

Hi Soul Sister,
Do you have an 8 x 10 shot of Deon? I think you mentioned that you took one of him too - any chance of a peep?

I have about 1/2 a dozen or more of "De" from 1966. The last week in August after I'm back from the next month's worth of 'gigs' Bobby Eli & Vonnie will be out for a visit and we'll post some photos then.

Rather than "lose" these on the forum, it would be great to have them in a mini-webisode.

Let me know what you think.

best wishes
David

All you have to do is send me the images by e-mail and I will put together a brief story.

Please don't upload the pics to the forum. I will act quickly to let everyone see them.

Thanks
David

I'm getting a lot of requests of what I have in the vaults. Check out this link:

http://www.popsiephotos.com/master_photo_directory.htm

This is what we have going in a nutshell. These are people that we have found at this point. This list may change as we get deeper into the archives and find people.

I'm sure I once saw a photo of Richard "Popcorn" Wylie that was taken by Popsie, but I can't find one listed on your Website.
