Fortune great Joe Weaver will be part of a Detroit review (w/ Thornetta Davis and Alberta Adams & the Rhythm Rockers)that will play in Canada next week. The first show is Thursday, July 17 at the Windsor Blues Fest (http://www.thebluesfest.com/windsor/) and the second show is the next day at the London (Ontario) Blues Fest. We just got got back from doing the same show in Thunder Bay, Ontario where we had a heck of a time! Joe is in fine form these days I must say, and I have been working with him since the mid- 90's. Also, look for Joe with the R&B Pioneers on July 20, at the Warren Jazz & Blues Fest in Warren, Michigan (of course). Anyone that wants details can email me.

Joe Weaver is the best. I especially love his performance on "Sugarlove Baby." Does he ever ask sometimes during a performance, to play the keyboards?

Alberta Adams...unbelievable...I do only know (and still need ;-) her Thelma release. I never knew she is still active up to today...anyone know of her other material from the 6t`s and 7`ts ?

Joe does play the piano once and a while on the gig, always on a SLOW ballad like "I'll Be A MAn For You" (J.Weaver), or "What Am I Living For" -- associated with Chuck Willis. He wrote "Sugarlove Baby."

I HAD the Alberta Thelma on a cassette, but I can't seem to find it! It is the only recorded material that I know of from the 60's or 70's.
