What ever happen to the female singer in Loose Ends?

Top of pageBottom of page   By Don (68.75.163.175) on Tuesday, July 08, 2003 - 03:47 am:

Hi Alfton. I can't think of this girl's name, but it'll come to me 'cause it is on the tip of my toung. I read in the news that she __________ was shopliftting to support a cocaine habit, I don't know if it is true about her drug-habit? I read where she was spotted by a security guard as she was (boosting, coasting) shopliftting and ran out of a clothing store, while trying she ran into on coming traffic where she was hit by an truck and then a car. Where she died instantly on the scene. The female singer that you are inquiring about is the original lead who's name still escapes me. Why I say this because this is what happened to her. Also, Loose Ends' last CD was released in 1992 on MCA. On they're last release she __________ was not featured on the 1992 album, she ___________ was replaced by one or two female singers. Two Loose End tracks that stands out that comes to mind are "Come And Rescue Me" and "Nights of Pleasure".

Alofton. I'm sorry I spelled your name incorrect. The female lead singer for Loose Ends died about 1-2 yrs ago in the UK.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the female singer caught shoplifting and being hit by the oncoming traffic, one of the lead singers for Soul II Soul? I forget her name at the moment.

I believe the lead singer's name for Loose Ends was Jane Eugene.

OMG! I loved Jane Eugene's work with Loose Ends! I didn't know she died... Whoa, that's sad.

Hello everyone,

Oh man, that is very sad. I used to love their singles, "Hanging On A String" & "Stay A Little While Chile". Interesting you should bring this group up because one of KevGo's artists from his sampler, reminded me of this group.

Peace!

MotownForever, could you be referring to Caron Wheeler (a former Soul II Soul lead singer) or one of the later singers for that group?

Top of pageBottom of page   By Handsome (170.118.157.134) on Tuesday, July 08, 2003 - 11:19 am:

Caron Wheeler was not the one who died from Soul II Soul. It was a later singer.

Is this true Jane Eugene has past because I thought it was one of the singers with Soul II Soul. I still love Loose Ends!!

I liked loose ends too, one of my favourites at the time!

Top of pageBottom of page   By Eli (151.197.118.232) on Tuesday, July 08, 2003 - 07:46 pm:

Excuse me!!!!
Jane Eugene is very much alive and lives in L.A. as does Carl Macintosh.
My friend, singer Jo Anna Gardner talks to her all of the time.

The woman that you speak of is a later day member of Soul II Soul whose name escapes me.

Oops I'm sorry everyone. I read it in a daly news and I remember correctly the reporter who'd covered the story. And from what I did read they reported it was Jane Eugene from Loose Ends, and that's the truth! Unless the reporter confused the lead singer of Loose Ends with Soul II Soul's lead singer(s). Believe me, I was shocked when I thought it was Jane. I just hope that I didn't upset the fans, and friends of Jane Eugene of Loose Ends. Also, I don't want anyone that logs into this forum that sees my name and say "There goes that guy name Don again spewing off about something he doesn't know what he's talkin' about!". It's not my fault it's the reporter's. "Oh Lawd, this is so embrassing to me". And I want to deeply apologise to Ms. Jane Eugene and my sympathy goes out to ____________ of Soul II Soul. Peace.

I think it was the girl from Soul ll soul that passed away. Eli I think your right about that because I remember hearing about that. WHAT IS JANE EUGENE doing theses days anyway?

Top of pageBottom of page   By Eli (151.197.183.125) on Wednesday, July 09, 2003 - 06:55 pm:

Jane and Carl live in L.A. but I am not sure what Jane is doing, but I will find out son.

Phew... What a relief. Thanks, Eli. If anything should come from this thread, Don, it would be we get to learn more about what Ms. Eugene and Carl Macintosh are up to nowadays.

We fans are concerned that we don't hear enough about Loose Ends. Are we going to get another album from them? Will we see solo projects?

I've seen Macintosh's name on Caron Wheeler's "UK Blak" album, too, but nothing else since the last Loose Ends album (1991?). (This is one connection between Soul II Soul and Loose Ends that may have confused the writer of the faulty article that Don was reading.) Ms. Wheeler thanked Jane Eugene and Loose Ends in her CD credits, while Macintosh produced one track on it.)

Could the singer from SoulIISoul that died have possibly been Victoria Wilson-James???

Walt:

It wasn't Victoria Wilson-James. Darn, I wish I could remember her name!

It was Doreen Waddell, former vocalist with Soul II Soul.
