I believe that the Brothers Johnson are in the ministry and as far as the others, I do not know.

Unfortunately,as we all know, except in very small instances, there is very little longevity in an acts career unless allof the pieces fit from day one.

Peoples tastes in music change like the seasons, and sometimes the well of great material just runs dry.

And there are SO MANY things that transpire behind the scenes that the public is unaware of.

But I will say this.
I wish that all of these acts were around right now to circumvent all of the pure crap that we are bombarded with now!!!!!

Fayette;
The Persuaders are still touring doing live shows along with other(so called)"öldies"acts, they still sound great, I saw them both at The Apollo & at Newark's Symphony Hall a few years ago. Do know at this time if its all the original line-up though.

At least two of the Persuaders are deceased; maybe more.

Two of the originals "Thin Line Between Love And Hate" Persuaders left or were booted after the first album and were replaced by two more guys, which included Charles Stodghill (formerly of the Topics [New York]), Stodghill is deceased.

The Brothers Johnson, after years of jealousy, threats, not speaking to each other, and egotistical BS (on the part of one Bro.) have re-formed and have been playing together again for almost two years. For Louis, it's just the pleasure of live performance...because he never stopped making $$$$. He has (or had) a martial arts academy, a "Bass" institute, still does sessions, and is...if I'm not mistaken, a licensed and certified attorney ! ("Wonder B, it's on you so whatchu gonna do ??")

Leon Sylvers is based out of Virginia Beach and still writing and producing. Much of what Teddy Riley has done in recent years was done with an uncredited Leon. One of the Sylvers brothers died of AIDS...and everyone else is out of the business.

Yarbrough & Peoples (my homies from Dallas), along with guitarist/vocalist "Goodie" Whitfield, The GAP Band, and others were part of the Lonnie (slap my name on it & gimme half the writer's credit + I own the publishing company...ha ha ha !!) Simmons "Total Experience" family. "Don't Stop The Music" came along when The Gap band was at the top, so anyone associated was going to get airplay...and their follow-up LP came along when the industry was changing & it was a very poor seller. I don't think they were dropped from the label...but they probably left the business.

I heard that the afformentioed "writer" was on the streets.
Whatever happened to the white Rolls, the house in the hills, the ice and the contriband????

1wicked - The Leon Sylvers reference to Teddy Riley....is that true?? I'm not in the States and I no longer devour Mags etc.,but I never heard a whisper(if u pardon the pun) that Leon-S was "uncredited" on T.Riley work.
Let me say,it wouldn't surprise me....but this snippet just makes me wonder what parts of some of my favourite Riley songs/productions are Leon-S and not the Ted.....Can u elaborate???

Des...unfortunately, keyboards have replaced Leon's unmistakeable Rickenbacker bass...so it's hard to tell which cuts he may have PLAYED on...but my sources tell me that's what he's doing now. Uhhh...just think ex-wife Nidra Beard (also of Dynasty) and the expenses of having an ex....... LOL LOL LOL You wanna get paid...but you may not want your name attached to a lot.
