Subject says it all....I bought the Guinn album and from memory, only "Dreamin'" was worth listening to.KoKo Pop's 12" single(On The Beach"???) was a good song, but didn't hear of them again.....and Savanna --- boy,did I love two singles they released in the late 70's --- CANNOT remember anything about them(the Band, that is) -- anybody shed light??

The "Guinn" family was a one shot album.
The were primarily a family unit with several exceptions and from North Philly.
They were put together by Mc Kinley Horton and Donald Robinson when they were at Philly World and then the album was leased to Motown, but not Motown as we know it as it was a tax write off at best. It sank without a trace.
Their siblings and kids had a group called Small Change on Wing. No big deal.

I'm bumpin' this up again cos I really want to know if anyone's ever heard of Savanna and those two singles in late 70's ?????
Please - somebody put me out of my misery.
Even if I'm forced into my Loft to dig 'em out and relay the label information,I'm not sure this'll help much.
I never heard or read anything about them at the time - but they must have had some sorta profile - I mean to say,I heard the tracks in a Disco in Glasgow,so you gotta think they had some reputation etc.
BTW - Is it ok to say "Disco" as opposed to "Club" yet???

Fortuitously, some guy in Germany scanned a 12" single by Savanna and is selling on Ebay!!!
Seems like there's a big UK involvement - which only with the passing years and other music purchases have I identified this is the case.
Track named : "I Can't Turn Away" on R&B Records Released: 1981
Writers : Osbourne/Jacobs/Robinson/Durrant/Williams
Prod.& Arr. : Joe Williams
Exec Prod.: Morgan Khan
Mixed by : Morgan Khan and Tony Swain

The production and mixing credits tell you of UK involvement as Swain was involved with Imagination and Khan is/was an Independent Record Label 'mogul' in 70's/early 80's......still haven't dug it out of my loft and haven't,therefore, heard it.
Anybody know any more now????
