This story has nothing to do with soul music.

But it has much to say of the human spirit, the soul of a man who gave up his own life while attempting to save the lives of others.

While most of us had long forgotten, we are reminded once again... that 'Joe' was buried twenty years ago on this very day.

Please, if you would take a moment to read this touching story, and reflect... how precious life really is.

Hi Medusa9e2003,

William Osler spoke long ago of life, and he summed it up, in one line:
We are here to add what we can to life, not to get what we can from it.

Such was the character and heroism of Joe Delaney.

Human spirit is an amazing thing, Joe did that for some reason only known to him..Hopefully that young man makes a difference with his life..
He may have been much too young when it happened to grasp the lesson of what actually happend and what it all meant in a spiritual- God sense...
That is a great story and a reminder to focus on the good that people can do with their lives...
