I bought this blind and it turned out to be full of superb ballads. What is your hidden treasure?

"The Lonely One" was a nice R&B hit in the Midwest but was even bigger along the Eastcoast and D.C. My favorite on this one is "I Destroyed Your Love," which became a staple on many For Lovers Only programs. Mr. Huff's voice isn't everyone's cup of tea, he sings in an extremely high, thin falsetto.

I remember a tune "I Destroyed Your Love," but when thinking of how it sounds, I think it was a group.

It is a group Sis: Terry Huff & Special Delivery.

I couldn't find a group singing it listed on Allmusic, so it must have been Mr. Huff.

Thanks for the feedback Scratcher. I love TH's moustache.
Al Johnson was the arranger. I was a big fan of his as an artist.

Mr. Huff Sis was part of a group called Special Delivery, that group and Mr. Huff is singing all the songs on the LP that David posted. They're from Washington, D. C.
When Terry Huff left they recorded an album that is just as good on M & M records the label that also recorded one album by Lamont Dozier. The latter edition had a female singer.

My favs on that one is "Shout About It," "You Ought To Be In Pictures" and another I can't recall at the moment.
The Special Delivery album on M&M is very good but got zero promotion. The sound is slicker; the producer had a bigger budget to work with. One of its best slow jams is a tune call "Straight From The Heart": Big Mistake. Con Funk Shun also put out a tune with the same title (different songs but both with slow with falsetto leads) around the same time.
A former Motown exec. owned M & M.

OH, thank you Scratcher. I haven't heard the entire album, but that particular tune was a hit. DMeikle, I wouldn't mind having that album myself.

Sis, you heard "The Lonely One" I'm sure. The only song on that album I don't like is "Poochie"; I think it's about his dog.

OMG! I remember buying the single "I Destroyed Your Love" as a kid. My siblings and I would play both sides (Pt 1 & Pt 2) and sing along.
David Meikle, Thanks for the scan, as I don't remember ever seeing the album. Upon closer inspection, it does look like (what I think is called) a "bar" moustache. I believe you would use moustache wax to hold it in place. LOL
