Does anyone know anything about this New York label?

David:
Do you have any records you could scan from this label? I could look into it for you before I go out of town.

I only do have one 45 on Versatile Records. This particular 45 is by Fred Bridges and called "Baby Don`t You Weep", a song Fred Bridges wrote and that was later on recorded by Wilson Pickett (for Double L) but only released as a single by Wilson Pickett in Germany on Liberty Records, which had the rights on all the Double L recordings.
There also exists an unreleased and unfinished instrumental version of the Fred Bridges tune on acetate which resides now in London, England.

Hi Marc
I'd love to use a label scan of this 45 on the webisode I'm working on.
Would you be able to send me one, circa 100k?
TIA
DAVID

David:
Does the label have a street address printed on it? I tried looking it up in my R&B Indies catalog but it wasn't listed.

I've seen a scan a long time ago and it sticks in my mind as being quite colorful.
As for address perhaps Marc can confirm.
Thanks
David

From what I remember it was pretty much a straight
pop label - that's why Kev wouldn't have found it
in the "R&B Indies" book. I'll see what info. I have in my database but offhand the Fred Bridges
might be the only R&B release.
Didn't I send you a scan of Fred's single a few months ago ?

I definitely recall seeing this label.
I don't keep scans of non-Detroit labels due to the pressure on my hard disk of thousands of images.
I wish I had it now!
I don't suppose you still have a copy do you?

Hi David, I will send you a scan of it. It will take some days tho, as I am not able to scan records myself in my office and need to go to a friends place.

Marc that will be greatly appreciated.
It will be many months before the webisode will be uploaded, but it is nice to have things in place.
Anything over 100k in size would be fantastic.
You can send it to david@soulfuldetroit.com
Thanks

David,
Nope, I didn't keep it.
What I'm doing now, to save hard drive space, is sending scans as e-mails to one of my on-line
e-mail accounts. Yahoo gives a miniumum 6mb space
and you can also set up a photostore that holds up to 30mb.
Might not sound much but 6mb will take around 200
scans - and you could set up different mail accounts for different webisodes/projects.
I hardly ever store scans on my hard drive.
