I've just recently bought a copy of Billboard from August 1966, which features a lovely black and white photo of Mary and 3 girls in Middle Eastern harem outfits (!) in an advert for Color - Sonics, a "new cinema-jukebox" company.
It appears that she made films for the company for "He Loves Me" and "All My Loving". These were produced by Paramount Studio films.
Please, please, please, somebody must know something about these. I'd give my eye teeth to see my favourite soul artiste on these films.
Hope someone can help.
Where are you, the Russi brothers, resident experts on Miss Wells?
David.

Well David, this is certainly interesting as I don't recall anything about this nor do I remember the pix and I use to scrape together my school lunch money to buy Billboard(I think it was 50 cents at the time).I'd love to see that pix.Aug. 66 would mean Mary had long been gone from 20th Century Fox(where she recorded the Beatle tunes) and had already had "Dear Lover" on Atco.

I'm unaware of this also, except that the two
songs mentioned were on 20th Cent. Fox's "Love
Songs to the Beatles" LP. But I don't doubt
this, because this sounds like something the
Exciters did which is shown in the Girl Groups
video. Maybe there is a connection, because I
know also that Mary and Brenda Reid of the
Exciters were very good friends and hung around
together during those mid-60s years.
