Good idea B Foster.
Here's mine. As moderator I am getting SO tired of people leaving the forum because of something somebody said or the way they may have percieved something being said. We're all adults here so we should expect to take a few lumps if someone happens to disagrere with something we may have said. BIG DEAL! Live with it!!! This is a forum. A place for open and varied opinions on a variety of topics related to our music. AS far as myself, I'm through begging people to stay when they've said they were leaving. I don't have the energy for it anymore. Let's all GROW UP!

It's a nightmare when RD laughs.
Send us a pic RD.

B Foster is another tosser who cannot face up to life in the open.
You're a wanker son!
By B. Foster (68.41.246.202) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 07:56 pm: |
Yes David, it's true, but I'm a professional wanker, and I am here defend the cause of wankers everywhere.
By David Meikle (62.252.128.6) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 07:58 pm: |
Good on you B Foster, first laugh tonight! Thanks
By RD (63.188.33.28) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 07:58 pm: |
I was laughing at B. Foster's post. This is a forum and I thought Foster's post was hilarious. Why are you starting on me? I didn't post anything negative about northern soul music or the Four Tops current lineup.
Being from Scotland you have no idea of Identity Theft and the headaches it has caused some people in the States. If people don't want to reveal their true identities on this or any other forum that should be their choice. A persons real name and their location is all an identity theft criminal needs since most counties have their civil and criminal records, including home ownership online.
I don't post pics online, sorry.

Most people will resort to personal attacks when they have run out of intelligent things to say...lets play like adults here!

I too was a professional Wanker but the economy took a nosedive, and I've had to seek employment in other, less satisfying, industries.
I've tried "Wankers Anonymous" meetings from time to time, but everyone who attends is a...well, a real wanker.
By RD (63.188.33.28) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 08:04 pm: |
Actually I don't post pics and scans because I don't know. I wanted to post some label's scans but didn't know how to do it. I have pics of the old Majestic Hotel where Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams worked at in Cleveland and other things.

Eddie old buddy, good to hear from you again. I'm thinking back to our days back in the Navy, and how we used to sing our theme song "Wankers Away". C'mon, let's have a round for old time's sake.

And you have just as many here who aren't out in the open. My reason, and probably theirs, is identity theft. If I was trying to sell something or promote someone or something I would take the chance, but since I'm not, I won't take the risk. I'm not a public figure, I'm a private citizen. Why don't you ask the others why they don't reveal themselves?
By Eddy Welk, public champagne drinker (205.188.209.109) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 08:15 pm: |
I've tried to reveal myself, often in public, but am continually rebuffed, so to speak.
Yes, B Foster, how could I forget the many nights of carousing and throwing up whilst we were at sea. Ah, the smell of salt water is close by.
By David Meikle (62.252.128.6) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 08:18 pm: |
C'mon RD, I've done that and you know it.
I'm in the process of calling out the people who have ridiculed the Northern Soul scene. I'm going to stick with that until I upload detail on every worthwhile NS CD.
A huge job, but they are going to have to justify their statements.
By David Meikle (62.252.128.6) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 08:19 pm: |
Eddy, cool it, you know we're talking shit. LOL

David,
In the interest of improving international relations, could you please explain the difference between a wanker and a tosser? I am considering a career change.
By Eddy Welk, failed Wanker (205.188.209.109) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 08:27 pm: |
David, permit me to offer an answer to my ol' pal B. Foster:
I believe a 'tosser' is a less successful 'wanker'. People who can't make it in the wanking industry usually become tossers.
Kind of like viola players are often failed violin players.
David, am I correct?
By David Meikle (62.252.128.6) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 08:32 pm: |
Eddy, "You're the cream of the crop".

I get comments from people REGULARLY who denigrate my Great-Great-third cousin's music.
I considered changing my name for a while because I couldn't take the stress, but I couldn't decide on a 'better' name.
I might change it to 'currant'--has a nice ring to it huh? Eddy Currant?
By Vandelron (68.198.48.201) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 09:01 pm: |
Thanks for the wonderful show of humanity.Being honest and feeling does tend to upset some people--we should all just pretend we dont ever feel anything and stay apart. Apparently the differnce between a hissy fit(spewing and stomping away) and honest communication cannot be assessed. Again thanks to some some of you healthier souls out there who gave support but Ive had enough.
By B. Foster (68.41.246.202) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 09:16 pm: |
Eddy,
Viva la resistance. You should be inducted into the humor (or the electronics) hall of fame.
I've too have taken a lot of flak for my name and have considered changing it. Perhaps Bananas Edison?
By Eddy Currant-Welk (205.188.209.109) on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 - 09:34 pm: |
Yes, the next stop is Broadway! Or maybe the 4 Tops!
Currant & Edison...maybe we can induct "Big Nick" Tesla, or his sister Teresa, too!

Eddy, are you by any chance related to Lawrence Welk of 'Baby Elephant Wank' fame - no. 45 in the Canadian charts, Monday, June 11, 1962?
By Eddie Welk, distantly related to Larry (12.47.224.12) on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 - 10:55 am: |
It's not something I usually acknowledge, but yes, we are related at the fifth degree of separation.

I'm starting a national drive to enshrine Larry Welk's ashes at the local Asti Spumante bottling plant--remember, he always offered his 'champagne music makers' every week for years and years and years on tv.
It would be even better if they would launch a Welk brand champagne this year which is the 100th anniversary of his birth.
I will add your name to the list if you want.
I'll send the list to the Asti Spumante people.
