Ive been criticized for some of my opinions which Ive always expressed respectfully, the latest being my post on Cellarful of Soul(I had the audacity to be disappointed in it). I had loved the fun and respect here(so much better than other boards) but havent felt it lately and I came here for fun and a hobby and a great love of Motown and soul music Ive had for 40 years. But it isnt fun or enjoyable to not be able to express an opinion--Ive never put anyone down or criticized others opinions and at the end of a long day I dont need this. Most of u have been great. I wish u well--Michael/Cleoharvey,Soul Sister and others who I loved connecting with. ALl the best.

Thanks Stu--of course we dont have to agree but its the putdowns that arent fun. I dont want to be castigated for not liking something. I hope I made myself clear--read the responses to my not liking C of Soul under that topic. ....this place reminds me of some science fiction cons I've been to, where you have a whole bunch of people patonate (sp?) about many things who sometimes express their opinion in a way that is not ment to be hurtful but does(Don't ever ask Dora about Marty Cantor).
One problem with computers is that they don't interject inflection and feeling, but just type words, and it's hard to tell if something is meant in a friendly way or not. Our solution at con would be to go to hospality--the bar--have a drink, shake it off, and move on to the next literarty arguement.
This is a long and windy way of saying you come here with opinions, like all of us, and sometimes we don't agree. Personally, I value your input--hell, everybody's input--and would hate to see you, or anyone else, go.

Seriously, I've had peeps jump all over a post from time to time. Been called a racist by somebody who was accused of being a racist just a month before. Been called a liar by an "insider" who claimed to have first hand knowledge, when they didn't have diddley. My skin's not that thick either ... but I'm still here. And I appreciate the reminder to be civil. I believe David was expressing his passion for the music and its creators and wasn't throwing slugs your way.
