The hourlong show aired at 11:30 this morning and I enjoyed it. It included the original station jingles and promos. They interviewed many of the stations former personalities such as E. Rodney Jones, Joe Cobb, Herb Kent, Lucky Cordell, Pervis Spann, Richard Pegue, Bill "Butterball" Crane and Wesley South and music personalities Maurice White, Verdine White, Eddie Kendricks and Smokey Robinson. Also included were vintage interviews with Ernie Leaner and Ed "Nassau" Cook. It was pretty good, but it could have been at least 30 minutes longer. One interesting point that I didn't know was that former WVON announcer was a policeman previously. Joe Cobb was driving one day when he he committed a traffic violation and was pulled over by officer Cornelius. While the officer was asking Cobb the usual questions a police officer asks in those situations, Conn noticed that Cornelius has a "unique" voice and told him that he was in the wrong profession. He suggested that the officer come down to the station and submit a demo tape. Cornelius took him up on his offer and the rest is history. I guess they'll rebroadcast the show at some point. I'll keep you posted.

Kev, as soon as I find out if and/or when when it's going to be rebroadcast. If not, I'll try to copy the one I have, if my other VCR is up and running.
