Does anyone have any 45s on the Effie label?
Any bits of info' would be very much appreciated.
TIA, Graham

Graham, is this Detroit based? Sorry if the next bit is a bit patronising but if you were told about the label rather than saw it written down, it could be the EVVY label, from Detroit, one release I know of is by the Blue Tempos. Keith

Hi Keith
I think Evvy was connected to Ernstrat etc'. and put out just one (?) release by the Blue Tempos.
The reason I asked about Effie is because I've been told that it's connected to the Fee label, but I've never seen any 45s.

Graham In Manifesto No 38 & 39 (a year ago) Steve Guarnori wrote a superb, in depth Fee Story. There was no mention of Effie but as soon as I get off line I will ring him to see if he's heard of it. Keith

Hi Graham.
I think Effie is tied to Fee. The one record I know on it--the Hustlers' single, What Ever's Your Sign (You Got to Be Mine) is co-produced by Woody Wilson, who owned Fee, with Boby Franklin, who recorded for Fee. The label looks very like the Boby Franklin single on Fee (different color but identical otherwise--very, very plain, unlike most Fee releases that have either the large, angled logo or the illustration of downtown Detroit). The catalog number is 201, and it bears a date of 1974. More disco than X-Over.
