Two of my all time
favourite musicians that have given me endless hours and still are with the amazing various tracks they have been on.
So hears a must for anyone who digs them both as I do,
an album that was recorded with the great
Jimmy Ruffin.
apologies if this has been covered but I dont recall, anyway well worth another mention.
The Album
is titlled "Jimmy Ruffin"
and was quite unique in that it was recorded in 2 different locations using entirely different musicians for each on each side.

On one side
has Dennis Coffee on guitar with several other session artists I Dont know who the others were can anyone tell me?
And they were recorded in the independent
Pampa Studios
in Warren,Michigan.

On the other side
its over to the Sigma Studios in Philly,
where Jimmy worked with amongst others
Bobby Eli,
Norman Harris,Vince Montana with Richard Rome arranging the string work and also on piano.

Jesus,
even I would sound good with all those backing me up and I cant play a darn thing.

Anyway,
also working alongside with Jimmy was the brilliant singer and also songwriter
Bunny Sigler.
Both working closely side by side whilst doing the philadelphia sessions.

At that time around 1971/2ish
using 2 different localities and also using different session artists was very new.

But Jimmy liked to do his own and innovative type of things.
I dont know if this was ever done byb other artists
or is done today?
but surely due to costs etc it woildnt be viable.

No matter what,
totally a unique thing all around.
Does anyone have any info about the above item.
apologies if theres any items of error.

And hey,
Bobby Eli
and
Dennis Coffey
and not forgetting
Mr.Jimmy Ruffin
and all involved
Thank you for the Music!!!!!

Hey Mel. Everyone here amazes me with their knowledge of the music. Just when I think I have remembered most of the records I did, you remind me of another one.
