It's a Thursday, it's October 8, 1964....

And I had just picked up the latest edition of the WKNR Music Survey Guide at Barringer's Music Store on W. Vernoy Hwy., located in (southwest) Detroit, Michigan....

According to the noted 'listing' of records played on "Keener 13" for the particular week dated above, therein you'll find holding the #27 spot on WKNR was the Rolling Stones with their debut 'pop' record hit, "Time Is On My Side"....

Funk & Wagnalls are a type/publisher of dictionaries/encyclopedias. In the 1970's, an American television program, 'Laugh In' capitalised on the name using it as a punch line to many of their silly jokes - "Look that up in your Funk & Wagnalls."

Hey Jim Feliciano!
How about the original "Time Is On My Side" by the great Queen of New Orleans R&B - Irma Thomas!

Released on the Imperial label in early 1964, the single became one of Irma's big hits next to "Ruler Of My Heart".

The O'Jays also recorded a version of "Time Is On My Side" for an Imperial LP (from 1964-65) that also included their hits "Lonely Drifter" & "Lipstick Traces".
