A friend of mine has a few Motown Picture postcards and cigarette type cards that all feature various artists on them.
Does anyone recall these?

He has a batch of actual postcards that feature
Stevie Wonder(1965)
Marvalettes from 1964 and 2 early Supremes shots.

He also has a postcard of Marvin Gaye that is on a Korean picture postcard from 1963.

In europe panini the specialists in football(soccer for our U.S.of A.friends)
posters etc did various cards of various Motown acts.
All in colour and numbered from 153-164.

There are also some Dutch chewing card types.

But it wasnt only Motown artists that featured on these
he also has
Chubby Checker(1961)
Shirelles(1965)
Capitols(1966)

Also in his collection is a series of very early Supremes photos on 12 cards with a different pic on each side,
these are or were printed by Motown
does anyone have any info on any of this.

Still dosent blow my motown revue book out of the water with all signed photo's of the motown revue when they first toured over here in the uk.

Just thought I would add that in because he knows how jealous I am of his superb collection mentioned above.

The 12 double-sided Supremes cards just might be those issued in 1986 at the time of the release of the Supremes 25th anniversary triple album set. These cards featured both D,M,F and D,M,C.

MEL: IF YOU PULL UP IN THE ARCHIVES UNDER STUBASS TEMPTATIONS SURPRISE...I POSTED WHAT I BELIEVE YOU MAY BE REFERRING TO...A POSTCATD TYPE PICTURE OF THE TEMPTATIONS...WHICH I HAD AUTOGRAPHED BY THE GUYS (MINUS OTIS) ON THE BACK...AND THEY WERE FROM THE EARLY-MID 60'S!!!...I BELIEVE THAT THE NAME OF THE PRINTER IS ON THE CARDS...AS WELL AS BOOKING INTO ON THE TEMPTS!!!...STU
