Parliament, 'Come In Out Of The Rain', I can't believe I forgot that one, what with it coming off 1 of my favourite albums ever... any1 else mention 'Kentucky Rain' (Elvis Presley)? Box of Rain (Grateful Dead)?

Top of pageBottom of page   By 65memories (66.72.176.71) on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 - 09:20 pm:

Mark mentioned Bobby Darin's "Rainin'". It's a song that's hard to find, but well worth the effort, especially because it's well done and so out of character for Darin.

Rain On the Roof -- The Lovin' Spoonful. A beautiful non-rock song from John Sebastian and krewe.

Top of pageBottom of page   By Mark Speck (205.185.125.139) on Monday, June 16, 2003 - 12:44 am:

"Rainin'" shouldn't be all that hard to find. It was on the flip side of a hit, "If I Were a Carpenter".

I checked a Bobby Darin CD I have, "Moods/Swings" (a nice UK comp of his best Atlantic material) and it's not on there, unfortunately, but Edsel (the UK label that my CD is on) have issued all of Bobby's Atlantic LPs on "two-fer" CDs, so it might be on one of those.

Best,

Mark

Buckets of Rain - Bob Dylan, Bette Midler

Top of pageBottom of page   By Uptight (24.55.6.144) on Monday, June 16, 2003 - 05:23 am:

Thanks, Eugene. I wonder if you have a rare mistake pressing of "You Can't Win" with the label reading "Can't Get Out of The Rain."

Has anyone heard the MJ song "Can't Get Out of The Rain?" Is "You Can't Win Pt 2" any good? I know the "You Can't Win" single is a re-recording of the movie soundtrack version made especially for Epic.

Top of pageBottom of page   By Uptight (24.55.6.144) on Monday, June 16, 2003 - 05:27 am:

Oh, I think I get it now. I guess MJ's "Can't Get Out of The Rain" is based on the chorus for "You Can't Win (and you can't get out of the game...)" Somebody fill me in.
:)
Again, since I don't have all my 45s with me, I wish I could hear the actual record. :(
