Yes he is the same person. Mike Boone is a friend from New York who's into soul music. He use to attend Felix Hernandez (The disc jockey) dances at Roseland Ballroom and Felix's Rhythm Revue live radio show from the museum of radio & televion.

Michael Boone is a treasure trove of musical knowledge and anecdotes. Growing up in Harlem USA, he's witnessed first hand the R&B legends we talk about here on the Forum (and those we have yet to talk about here on the Forum!). As an music industry person myself, I'm honored to call Michael a dear friend and colleague of the highest order - God knows how many times he's helped me with info when I needed it. I'm glad he's conducting interviews with legends because SOMEONE has got to document this history before our heroes move on to "higher ground".

Michael has earned the title "The Chancellor Of Soul" and a place in the music industry.

At one time I was associated with Felix
Hernandez and his producer and great buddy of
mine, Steve Nicholas. In 1997, I took part of a
wonderful tribute along with Steve,for Felix on his 11th anniversary
of his great radio show, The Rhythm Revue. There
I got to meet some of the greatest artists of
music history !!!! That was one night, I'll always
remember.

Boone is not only a Encyclopedia of Soul and all that is Funky,he is also one of the nicest guys one could ever meet.Last time I saw him was at a Bernie Worrell show in NYC last summer and we all had a great time.Hopefully I'll be able to get down again soon.Mike also does a regular netcast on another site that is worth checking out.
