I heard this on the radio once a few days ago. I thought, "What a unique song!" And very touching. It should get a lot of radio play during Father's Day, huh?

Did anyone see Luther's mother on Oprah yesterday talking about how Diabeties killed Luther's father, & older brother & sister? That Luther's condition was okay when he had lost weight but while heavier the condition was affecting him, why he had the stroke & went into a diabetic coma. Scary stuff, How heartbreaking for his Mom. Lets all pray some more! God be with you Luther, you are in all our prayers.

It's a shame we will not get the show in England for a few months, but the text from Luther's Dear MOM sent with yesterday's email, allowing you to listen to four tracks off the album released 10th June is so touching! straight from "The Heart" which about sums up what Our Music is all about!

Before suffering the stroke, Luther had put the finishing touches to what is another fantastic Luther album, this time taking the Luther sound to the younger generation through his collaborations with Beyonce Knowles and Busta Rhymes. The album 'Dance With My Father' will be released on 16th June at the request of his Mother, Mary Vandross, and the rest of his family.

Here's an excerpt from the statement issued by his Mother following the huge public outpouring of grief in the US and around the world.

"Since I live in Philadelphia I go to the hospital every two or three days to have a prayer with my son. I hold his hand and pray with him. Right after the stroke, he was in grave danger; it was very touch and go. But I feel that it is just a matter of time before he improves and to me, his appearance gets better daily. It's a very slow process. But I believe there is nothing too hard for God."

"We play music for Luther all day long and we talk to him too. We play all his favourites - Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, and we play his music too. His friend Fonzi puts the new song Dance With My Father on his pillow - we play that one a lot since Luther told me that he thought that was the best song he ever wrote. In fact, right after he wrote Dance With My Father he called me and he said, 'Mama, I wrote a song for you and daddy, I'm going to bring it and see what you think."

"When I heard it, I felt like I was going to, well, scream. I played it over and over and I cried and cried. I was amazed how well Luther remembered his father, how we used to dance and sing in the house. I was so surprised that at 7 ½ years of age, he could remember what a happy household we had. It was always filled with a lot of music. Luther's father - who was also named Luther - had a beautiful voice and he would sing and sing. That is where Luther got his gift."

"Knowing how he loves this new album, I believe Luther would want it to come out now and I'm so grateful that he can get this chance. He is going to recover and when he does, I want him to be greeted with a big success story. He has to recover, he's all I have left, he's my last surviving child."

I have been listening to the cut Dance With My Father ever since it was released on line. It has a quality and new direction in sound that is wonderful Because of issues with my father the song really struck home and I believe will be one of his biggest hits. I cannot wait to hear the rest of the album.

I am pleased that You found something "Personal" in the Luther track - it reminds me of the first track that I ever played on the debut radio show, "I'll Always Love my Mama" it was Her Aiinversary yesterday and that song is still so personal and special.

it is such Good News to hear that Luther regained concious yesterday, Our Pyayers should be with Hi that he continues to grow in strength.

It is still early 7am, but the post lady has just been with LUTHER'S NEW ALBUM! MMMMMMmmmmmmm along with the sun makes it so Special!

Of course "Dance with my Father" stands OUT so much and is going to be a True Classic, followed closely by "Buy me a Rose" and and Luthers interpretation of the classic "The Closer I get to You" with Beyonce Knowles........ heaven!

Not certain about the number with Foxy Brown and Busta Rhymes, but that is just me.

Thanks FATHER for answering Our Prayers so far with LUTHER and thanks LUTHER for sharing it with us.

Picked up the new album Friday. Love it. I'm not a fatalist and I pray for Luther's complete recovery yet I can't help feeling this will be the last album from him.

Tamayra Gray of American Idol sang "Dance With My Father" on the Today Show. As she was singing, there were pictures and video of Luther in the background. It was extremely touching and emotional and Miss Gray did a great job. It also was a clever thing for Clive Davis to promote the record.
