My first love had a 1966 red GTO convertible, with a 45 RPM record player under the dash. Our favorite songs were Aaron Neville's "Tell It Like It Is" and Aretha Franklin's "I Never Loved A Man." I'm sitting here having a flood of wonderful memories ... until the reality of Vietnam just brought me back to the present. He came home alive, but was never the same. I hope the men and women serving in the Armed Forces today have better options and care than my generation did.

Don't worry, shhh happens all the time. Love is always a cool topic, no matter how its phrased. My first love came along at the same time as The Temptations, The Girls Alright with Me ? Everytime I hear it in the Summertime I am immediately transported back to the sixties and my girl Cookie.

Medusa,
Don't worry about it. Threads have a way of filling up regardless of any repeating. We never really know what they are going to turn into.

By the way, I think my first love song was Earth Angel. I remember dancing to it with this girl I was SOOO in love with in the 7th grade. I was so in love with her that I can no longer recall her name.

I know my first was Smokey Robinson and the Miracles "Ooh Baby Baby," there was a lot of grinding in the basement to that one. And Johnny Mathis' "Wonderful, Wonderful."

...and since we kept the topic going(thanx all 4 responding)...when I was N Middle school, the song (by I believe they were called the Artistics). The song was "I'm gonna miss you" and everytime I hear that song, it reminds me of my very first heartbreat...when my boyfriend & I (15 year olds) broke up LOL!!!
A song can set many memories N place~ happy, sad, good & bad..but life is nothing without a song.

My own ? Too many good ones to remember. But...the first love song I remember hearing that actually stuck with me was on a record my older brother would play, I was about 7 years old, it was "Little Maiden"the B-side of "Sha-boom"by the Cords on the old Cat label, I saved that record through all my crazy journeys in life, even when I let my large collection go back in the day!
