Hi.

Does anyone know where I can find Little Sister's "You're the One" released in the early 70's by Sly Stone sister(s)? I have the 45. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Little Sister was Sly's sister Vanetta Stewart (Rosie Stone?), Elva Melton and Mary Rand.
I have got their two singles from 1970.
Stone Flower Records 9000 "You're The One" Part 1 & 2.
Stone Flower Records 9001 "Somebody's Watching You" b/w "Stanga".

Another sister from Sly & The Family Stone, Rose Banks, recorded for Motown 1976.

I have not seen their recordings on any CD yet!

Thanks Lars & Sly. I heard this song on the radio in Chicago, and just figured it was available on CD. Keep me posted & If I hear anything I'll let you know.

"Somebody's Watching You" by Little Sister is available on the Rhino compilation Soul Hits Of The 70s Vol. 4.

"You're The One" is not available on CD.

You can find the full uninterrupted version parts 1 & 2 of the "Tom Moulton Mix" on a vinyl album by Danny Krivit entitled "Grassroots: Musical Influences and Inspirations"(www.dustygroove.com) it is a separate track. On the cd it's in the middle of a mix(www.dustygroove.com). If you want the full version alone I would suggest that you get the vinyl. Also you can find it on 45 at www.gemm.com.

Last week I played music at a friends party and I just knew I had to play "You're The One" so I burned parts 1&2 onto CD, they went over really well. This great song was also recorded by The Three Degrees and Stargard. The song "Stanga" has also been reissued on a CD compliation from Warner/Atlantic Records, I can't seem to remember the name of it but I did see in one of the many stores that I vist, I should have picked it up.

Hello everyone,

I have "Somebody's Watching You" b/w "Stanga" on 45 as well. I was wondering if Sly did played all the instruments & did he sing on the single? On "Somebody's...", it sounds like Sly is helping on the background vocals as well. I may be wrong, though....

Peace!
