How about
"it aint no use"
or
"Skate awhile"
or
"mellow moonlight"
but for me it's just got to be
"BABY RECONSIDER"
SAY NO MORE.

Leon has a recording studio here in Los Angeles (I work there on various projects). The engineer I work there with in the past has been none other than Reggie Dozier.

Leon also has a triving blues lable (not sure of the name)

Hi!
On Clay Hammond's latest cd called I Kissed Her Gone (on Desert Sound Records) there's one track titled Leon Stole My Freak. This cd was mixed and mastered by Leon Haywood and is distributed by his Evejim Records.
Best regards
Heikki

If anyone is interested, Leon Haywood's Fat Fish recording, `Baby Reconsider` was probably the record that started the whole Northern / Rare Soul scene in England. There were other in demand records, Earl Van Dyke, 6X6, the Dynatones, Fife Piper and Jackie Lee, `Darkest Days` for example but they were obtainable, at a price but `Baby Reconsider` was RARE & unobtainable at ANY price. It also started the `pressings` (bootleg) scene over here on a label called `Soul Sounds`.
Leon........what did you start! Keith

Why do I keep hearing "Ain't Nuthin But A G Thang" by Snoop when I think of Leon? I wonder what he thought about Snoop sampling his song.

Peace!

PS: Medusa9e, please don't hurt me! LOL! I couldn't help it.

He also did a nice cover of William Bell's "Everyday Will Be Like a Holiday" for Decca and there's also his great track for Capitol, "Consider the Source".

As for Leon's later material, don't forget "Don't Push It, Don't Force It".

Best,

Mark

Anyone in Detroit know how to contact Carl Carlton? Leon Haywood produced two lp's on him one was never released and i would like to find Carl to add to it for a cd. Leon will never go broke because of the Carlton hit he produced in the early eighties "She's a bad Mamma Jamma". It went to #1 on the pop chart and Leon has been smilin' all the way to the bank ever since. James Ingram was the guy that walked into the studio and proclaimed "That's a bad Mamma Jamma", it stuck. Have Carl look me up and e-mail me from
www.soulwalking.co.uk/Lonnie%20Cook.html .

forgot to say you can go to www.evejim.com to see what Leon has been up to. I do not think he has a functioning e-mail but his business # is listed (323)292-3452. Call him and tell him that Lonnie Cook gave out his number maybe he will listen. I have been trying to get him to come up to date technologically for three years now. I am meeting with him Tuesday.
