LUCY: LAST WORD I'VE HEARD IS THAT LUTHER HAS STILL...UNFORTUNATLY...NOT REGAINED CONSCIOUSNESS...BUT HAD A SUCSESSFUL TRACHEOSTOMY...WHICH HAS ALLOWED HIM TO BREATHE ON HIS OWN!!!...HIS FAMILY HAS PUBLICLY EXPRESSED HOPE THAT HE WILL RECOVER...ALTHOUGH...FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND FROM A MEDICAL PERSPECTIVE...THE LONGER ONE REMAINS IN A COMA FROM THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT...THE MORE DOUBIOUS THE PROGNOSIS!!!...STUBASS

That's correct, from the medical standpoint. The longer one remains in a coma.....the poorer the progress/recovery. Sadly, it sounds like Luther was alone for a rather long period of time after the stroke and he probably continued to have intra-cranial bleeding before any intervention took place. Not good, either. If he could have been rushed to a medical center at the time it happened, chances may have been much better. I understand he is still on a ventilator, which is proably the case, as he's still in a coma. There's contant battles keeping all systems "go". Pneumonia is always looming, as well or organ failure (kidney's, etc.) With him remaining in a coma, there's no way to really access his neurological status. I used to work in neuo-surg (RN), so am familiar with this situation. Let's keep the prayers coming. Miracles do happen, you know.

..I heard he was extubated (the breathing tube was removed from his lungs)and he's breathing on his own, but still unconcious...

Thank You for the info.I am also in the medical field, and you are absolutely right in saying that the longer he remains in a coma...things aren't good.I also agree rockfan, that he was alone for too long before treatment had begun.Time is crucial in this type of situation.
LET US KEEP PRAYING.
