I did not know that David Ruffin had a brother younger than him named Garfield flemmings. To my understanding , he had one brother, and his name was Jimmy Ruffin. Where is this man comming from , claiming to be David's little brother?

Kiely, what about Dr. Quincy Ruffin? Brother? Yes.
Jimmy Ruffin? Brother? Yes. There is also a half brother named Calvin I think, and a sister named Rita Mae. Garfield Flemmings? Maybe the family knows. Guess they are the ones that need to know. What cha think?

Kiely,

Garfield is a part time Delfonic and is NOT related to the Ruffins. That is something that was fabricated because he is tall and thin and wears glasses which give the illusion of "Ruffinism"

I agree with you Eli. I have never heard of Garfield Flemmings as being related to David Ruffin. David's family should and could know about this Perp , LOL , But I, myself don't believe the hype. I believe that he is not David's bro, and trying to pull a fast one. I have heard him on a website and he has imitated David really well. But, we know for sure that Jimmy is his bro, and they sound nothing alike. So why is it that, he has to be his brother AND sound exactly like him ? Possible but impossible.

I saw the Delfonics in Chicago last year and they maintained that this Garfield Flemming was David's Brother and that Davids Father was a Rolling Stone (sic) and while he was in Ohio...yada,yada,yada and would'nt you know it they went right into singing Poppa was a Rolling Stone. Sad to say but he was really the best part of the show, seems that Mr. Hart was having a great degree of difficulty hitting those notes. As someome else said, he imitates Mr.Ruffin rather well.....but thats saying a lot.

Jody,

Is the Dr. Quincy Ruffin you are referring to an older brother of David's. I know he once referred to his "eldest" brother meaning another brother above Jimmy in age.

According to Dr. Quincy Ruffin, in his book of essays and poetry entitled "Mississippi Tears", he is the elder half-brother (same mother, different fathers) to Jimmy, David, Rita and Rosetta (who passed at one year one day of age). No mention was made of any other siblings, though of course outside children are not out of the question.

...and I'm sorry, I believe I had the order out of order, I'm pretty sure Jimmy was the eldest of Quincy's half-siblings, and David was the baby. Rita was six years older than David.

Kalisa2:

Will you please post how and where you purchased the book, "MISSISSIPPI BURNING", by Dr. Quincy Ruffin. I have looked and can't find it.

JCP : The book is titled "Mississippi TEARS", and is available from Q.B.Books, PO Box 68203, Orlando, FL 32868. The cost was $12, plus $2 shipping when I purchased it two years ago.
