Well I'm wading my way through all the possible paths of the DVD. : - )

This DVD is packed with info and entertainment value!

Today I decided to look at the DVD ROM part of the
Disk 2 on my computer.

The whole movie is again presented in Windows Media 9 Format.

I already had WM9 on my computer but the Movie requires that you be AUTHORIZED to view it so you must be online on the internet for the application to authorize it via some Microsoft online authorizer key.

Autoplay did not work so I had to use their RUN command line method. After screwing around with that for a while I could then open WM9 Player and Open the Movie on the DVD ROM. I do not have a 5.1 sound card on my computer so I just listened in stereo.... VERY NICE. I would at some point like to compare the WM9 audio vs. the DTS, vs the Dolby....

Virtual Band... a "You remix a Funk Brothers Track!"
Included here is a version of Sonic Foundry Acid.
After you install Acid and register it via the web again you are ready to remix 12 (I think) tracks of the Funks. This is fun and it really sounds good.

They advertise a best remix competition. This was not yet implemented.

Irony here.
The whole premise of ACID is to use prerecorded (sampled) instruments and loops and grooves to make your music. The Funk Brothers are nothing about that and the general attitude on this forum is Bah to samples and computers. Hmm....interesting...but it sure is fun!

What I could NOT find were the 4 BMW Films that were advertised to have been there in WM9 Format.
Maybe its me?
Maybe its really not there?
Maybe its on disk 1 not 2 ?

Great DVD set!

What do you folks who have watched it think?

The BMW films are on Disc 1 and only playable on the computer :(

If you can get to them, the James Brown one, 'Beat The Devil,' is incredible.

Did anyone except me play with the virtual band
ACID tracks yet?

This is quite a unique feature here.

Jay - I loaded the virtual band, but had no idea what to do with it. :o)

Do you know the actor's name who played the character of the young James Brown?

Beat the Devil was great!!! I saw it before the
movie also. James Brown will be here in Orlando
this Sat., May 3rd, at the House of Blues. It's
also his 70th(!!!) birthday.

The Virtual Band will play once you install the ACID program.

It is a lite version of an audio editing and mixing program.

All the editing in ACID on the beat boundries and you can cut and paste and still be in time with the existing groove. Its all there if you want to play.
If you don't want to play I'll completely understand. : - )

The horizontal sliders are faders and you can mix the different instruments to your liking.

Go To:
http://www.sonicfoundry.com/tutorials/English/ACIDInterface/start.htm

for a tutorial...granted some of these functions are not available in the free SITSOM DVD version

Also Sis,
I could NOT find the name of the actor who played the YOUNG James Brown. I checked the Internet Movie Data Base and other internet sources and the lower profile cast members are not credited. Hey sounds like a Motown production!!

Thank you Jay. I believe if I work with this system, I can understand better what you guys mean when discussing the recordings.

The young James Brown looks like the young man who portrayed Jackie Wilson in the musical play.
