Was over at the local Walmart and saw a nice display of the dvd and vhs.They have a similiar deal as Best Buy.The dvd and the tempts dvd for $16.49 along with the $5 rebate.It looked like they sold a good number of dvd's already.It's a hot product.

....it was noted in a couple of threads about a "lack" of pormotion for the movie in its theatrical release.
Apparently there's no question about promotion of the DVD. It's gotten good, well placed reviews in general interest magazines and newspapers, and I noted a full page COLOR advertisement in the Entertainment section of Sunday's New York Times. THAT must have set someone back a pretty penny.

The DVD is in a "featured" section at Tower Records in Chicago & the Oldies Station 104.3 has been giving away copies all week. They have also played "What Becomes of the Brokenheated" on the radio a few times.

When I wrote Allan (Dr. Licks) back last night, I practically BEGGED him to somehow get this awesome track released as a single.

(Poor guy HAS to bone tired of hearing THAT one!!).

Everyone who HAS heard it agrees it would do very well, even in the current mediocre "Top 40" climate. An old-fashioned retro-Soul classic with great lyrics and killer accompaniment.

But..it wouldn't be the first time a standout track from a soundtrack busted loose from strong word of mouth. Glad to hear it's getting some airplay.
