Ineed help in finding If This Is Love, Then I,d Rather Be Lonely by The Precisions a great 60,s singing group with dazzling dance moves. Does anyone know where I can find a Chess Records CD set with Voice Your Choice by The Radiants? Also what album had Tune-up on it by The Dramatics? The Precisions were on the Drew label and sang If This Is Love in1967. I loved watching them on the Robin Seymore show.I also remember seeing a young Lonette McKey sing Stop don,t worry about it. Loved her in Sparkle as Sister.

Hey CandyKool: "Tune up" is on a lp that also features the Dells. I think the title was Dells vs. the Dramatics. The covers featured the guys in caricature dressed in basketball tops.

I love that song, especially the engine startup.

Thanks for sharing your memories of the Precisions. All their material is worth seeking out.

Candy:
The Radiants "Voice Your Choice" is available on the following:
CHESS SOUL: A DECADE OF CHICAGO'S FINEST
MCA CD 9388
It's a double CD of Chess' soul sides

BEG SCREAM SHOUT - THE BIG OL' BOX OF 60S SOUL
Rhino CD 72815
A six-CD set of some of the best 60s soul on the planet (assuming you don't already have what's on this box).

No luck with the Precisions - when I find something I'll let you know.

Good luck!

You can buy two excellent Radiant CDs from Dead Dog Records. One features all the Radiants recordings with Maurice McCalister, plus the Maurice and Mac sides; the other features all the Radiants recordings they could gather, about 18 from the originals to the later lineups. You can also purchase an excellent album that features all the Spinners Tri-Phi sides, along with cuts by the Challengers III, the Five Quails, Harvey Fuqua and others.

Not sure about the Radiants one - I have a German 29-track anthology, "The Ultimate Collection", but the Spinners CD is almost certainly a bootleg!

Yea, they might be bootlegs, but they're good CDs. You won't find any other compilations of Radiants and Maurice and Mac's recordings anywhere. If it was put out by a so call "legitimate" label chances are the participants wouldn't get paid anyway so what's the point?

I bet that 29 track German anthology is a combination of the two Radiants' CDs available from Dead Dog.

You definitely won't find the Challengers III (featuring Ann Bogan) or the Five Quails sides anywhere else.

Dead Dog Records have a lot of interesting CDs on their sites, stuff you won't find anywhere else. Their web address is www.deaddog.com
