Hi Soulpuss,

Joy was not a group. It was vocalist Joy Stanford who was part of the BHY stable of artists.
Kaleidoscope was a shortlived coed group.
I believe that Terri Wells and Ted Wortham were the featured vocalists but dont hold me to it.
Dont remember too much about them though.
We had a ton of "almost made it " type acts which are too numerous to mention.

Bobby,
What do you remember about other outfits; the Ambassadors & Family Connection
The Ambassadors were around the Philly scene for ages in the 60's and then by addin a lady from the Ebonys evolved into Creme D'Cocoa who cut for Venture in the late 70's / 80's. Were these Venture tracks cut in Philly or LA ??
Family Connection cut "The Newspaper Song" [a 45 on Rufus]. A bit of a Philly meets N Y soundclash here with the rhythm prod & arr by yourself. Horns & strings by Patrick Adams, song's sweet soul meets social commentary ballad (the sort of thing the Escorts did on their Alithia LP's).

Hi JS,
The Ambassadors were a five man vocal group known for their unique dance steps.
The only names I can remember right now are Bobby Todd, Hurley, Benny. I will post the other two as soon as my brain wakes up!
Bobby was killed on a construction site accident.
Three of the guys p;us Jeny from the Ebonys formed Creme d'cocoa. Venture was a label jointly owned by producer Tony Camillo and Cecil Barker who worked for NASA and it was based at the NASA office(believe it or not) in Rockville, MD. Sandra Feva(Richardson) was his assistant.
I went down to meet about producing a second lp on them but Cecil was a bit frugal with the cash.

Family Connection were from Bridgeport Connecticut. The lead singer was thirteen at the time. I preferred the flip, a remake of Black Pearl.
