I heard on 2 radio stations within minutes conflicting reports on Luther. The first seemed to coinside with the E-Online report. It said he suffered a massive stroke, paralized on 1 side and is doubtful that he will ever sing again. Another said that he suffered a stroke but is recovering quite well. Of course we all hope the latter report is the right one.

I also did hear he suffered a massive stroke.
I mean what I am now going to say with all due respect. All of us have watched his weight go up and down over the years.I actually thought he finally had kicked it when I watched him give interviews saying that he finally figured it out.....diet and exercise.I kept saying to myself, losing and gaining all this weight IS NOT GOOD.Yes,I am in the medical field.
I AM A HUGE FAN,AND I PRAY HE WILL RECOVER.

GOD BLESS YOU,LUTHER

The word on the street (and you may decide to take that with a grain of salt) is that Luther is far worse then they are saying. He is conscious but unable to have a conversation and is paralyzed. He had been in bed some time after the stroke had occurred before they found him. There have been many stories of recovery from this type of situation and our prayers are with him.

Michael
The fact that they are not saying anything much lets me know that its serious!!! If it was not that serious they would have said so..I think in the next coming weeks we will hear what you are saying. He can come out of this though with prayer and encouragement and the help of God..
Stephanie

I was reading last nite on one of his web sites that no more info will be released. He was in bed for 2 days before they found him. They said he is conscious, but still in critical condition.
IT'S A LONG ROAD BACK FROM A MASSIVE STROKE,BUT WITH HARD,HARD WORK AND THE POWER OF GOD IT CAN BE DONE.I'VE SEEN IT.

GOD BLESS YOU LUTHER.

This is indeed good news so far. Luther's not out of the woods yet but he's on the right track.
Keep on pushing, Luther!

Hi Guys:

Hot off the presses. He's had to have a tracheotomy due to contracting pneumonia. I've heard more conflicting stories. Some stories say he's conscious and others say he was in a coma from day one and hasn't come out of it yet. WHATEVER the truth is, let's keep him in our prayers.

I also heard the same thing on the news this morning. It was also said he hasn't spoken since this all happened.
Very sad news indeed.

Let us all keep on praying.

The mere fact he had to have a tracheostomy and is still on a ventilator to breath for him is sad news. There's been no mention of neurological impairments, yet. This isn't the best news at this point. Let's all keep him in our prayers and hope for a recovery.

I first met Luther in 1970 at the Apollo when he was part of "Listen My Brother" which was a neighborhod awareness collective that performed songs aand skits.

Luther, please get well and continue making that sweet music that is uniquely your very own!!
