some of these are hard, but here goes:

1) Michael. Prince has made some of the baaadest records of all-time. If I were to pick based on their peak moments, Prince would win hands down. In the 80's, especially from "Controversy" through "Around the World in a Day" he was almost perfect. But when I put the careers against eachother, Michael's done many more great things. His last decade or so has been a flop for the most part, but so has Prince's.

2) Tough. I am not a Diana fan at all, but Whitney's never made a record that could even come close to the classic Supremes productions, I don't give Diana much credit for those though, I credit the songwriters, musicians and producers. So, after thinking this through, I'd have to give a little edge to Whitney. Her early albums were some of the best dancable soul-ish music of the 80's, and even when she's doing trite material, her voice makes us want to listen. You can't say that about Miss Ross.

3) Temps. I love the Manhattans, but this is no contest.

4) J-Lo. I just like her better. I'm not a Mariah hater, but J-Lo is more my type, and she doesn't appear to take herself that seriously, AND she can act!

5) My instinct is Ja Rule, I just love his delivery, and that voice is too cool, but Nelly makes great party records. It's a tie.

6) Ron Isley. I can appreciate what Babyface does, but his music is cold to me.

7) Patti. Gotta support the Philly sista! (It's no contest in my book)

8) Luther! Peabo's a cool cat, but Luther is a Legend. I hope he gets well soon!

9) TLC. Destiny's Child just sounds the same to me every sigle time. TLC was a great pop group.

8)

Whew here goes:

1.Michael over Prince , although its a tough call. I like Michaels early work with his brothers and of course most of his stuff up to Thriller. Prince was the shhhh, from Dirty Mind to 1999.

2.Diana Ross ( Whitney who ?)

3.Temptations Forever. Manhattans are ultra cool but didn't have the impact of the Tempts.

4.J-Lo. Mariah is a much better singer, but J-lo only gets confused about her men.

5. Do I have 2 choose ?

6. Ron Isley, I just wish that the brothers were still jumpin and thumpin, the shows back in the day were the absolute bomb, no one could compete with them then. Now the acts rings hollow.

7. Patti Labelle hands down....kick off them shoes baby ! :-)

8. Luther no contest

9 TLC, dam Chilly is just so fine and there music has always been on point for their generation.

1 Prince over Mike and Ill tell you why. I would pick Mike but Prince can dance AND he is a great composer and musician so if I had to pick the whole package it would be Prince but that one was the hardest.

2 Diana over Whitney. Whitney has better chops but when it comes to the Supremes and style and elegance Diana wins hands down she is a major icon whether you like her or not and a much better actress than Whitney.

3 Temps hands down but I respect the Manhattans

4 Mariah ..J-lo doesnt even come close she is just another fad that will cease and desist.

5 Ja Rule no competition

6 Ron Isley this man has paid his dues and makes much better music maybe in 10 years Ill say Babyface but until then Ron is one of the greats

7 I respect Patti but I would rather see Natalie live. Patti screams too much for me and I liked her a lot better when she was with Labelle I never cared for her solo career. I know most people disagree with me but when she was with Labelle I found her to be more interesting

8 I never cared for Peabo he was boring to me I think that Luther is the man and the next best thing we had to a male singer after Teddy Pendergrass

9 Destiny's Child is another flash in the pan but I think they were cute girls. In TLC the ladies were much more talented and while they were not as pretty they could rock and had a great stage show and used real musicians so my props go off to them T-B0z and Chili and Left Eye were coming into their own and had Left Eye lived I think they would have done some great things and produced some groups. Waterfalls was a masterpiece compared to some of the crap out at the time. I dont like Creep and No Scrubs but these girls put on a good show and its a shame they got ripped off.

I STILL Like Mike, with all of his facial stuff and all~~the guys still got a great personality.
He never once bragged about what he has...although he can buy ANYTHING (material/earthly things) he wants 2 buy..he never brags. Michael has had some child problems, he was cheated out of it by BN a child celebrity.
But under all the make up/ plastic, there lives a real person with a real heart & soul, who only need love and sometimes just don't know where 2 get it!

In a case like comparing Temps to Manhattans I think its like comparing apples to oranges Eg: Crossover Commercialism to Soulful Romance. Yes Yes the Temps are fabulous no doubt about it but for me personally I'd rather listen to the soulful love talk and emotionally penertrating ballads of the Manhattans and others I feel fit in their particular catagory like Little Anthony & The Imperials, The % Srairsteps, The O'Jays, The Moments. The Whispers, The Madlads, The Originals, and so on... just my taste, tho'I do love the Temptations for what they do.
