1.
You got a way of smiling that turns me on
Your tender voice makes my heart beat so strong
You constantly amaze me with all your charms
You put me in a daze when you hold me in your arms

2.
Back in the streets again, where the noise is nice and loud
There I can't hear myself thinking, I can lose my thoughts in the crowd

3.
Now that you're leaving me girl, I feel I'll lose my mind
You're packing all your clothes, turning in your key, leaving me behind

4.
So all my love I gave to Jeff (?), 'cos he was all I had right then
But the wheels of an automobile brought his life to a tragic end

5.
In my face the wind is blowing, in my heart the love is growing
And the sound of her name can make sunshine out of rain, my ?

6.
You said you'd always be mine, the rest of our lifetime
But now we're older and your love grows colder
You left me crying on mama's shoulder

...You make me smile, you make me sing, you make me feel good everything...amd I can't go on this way, it's growing stronger everyday, but just to shy to say that "I really love you"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I feel so much together, when you're around, I'm never under the weather, when you're around, thanks so much for loving me, and I'm glad I'mloving you, 'cause life is so beautiful, when you're around...
Well done Davie, those two weren't that easy.
A few comments:
1. I asked this one before. Recorded by someone who sadly died recently.
2. Motown.
3. West coast classic.
4. There can't be many soul songs with lyrics about a dog getting run over! LOL
I shouldn't laugh, because it's a really sad song.
I was raised an only child, my folks died when I was four
They were trapped in a fire, way up on the 14th floor
5. I'm a big fan of Chuck Jackson. Who isn't? :-)
Listen, oh come on and listen
You can hear the wind calling out Rosalind
6. My fave sound at the moment, from Chicago. Tricky one.
Tony,
thanks for the clue on 2 - it's buzzing through my head now :-)
Four Tops - "Can't Get You Off My Mind"
from the good side of the "Yesterdays Dreams"
album.
Davie
Davie - Not quite the right title for the Four Tops, but I know what you mean!
Graham - Must be the original Boola Boola version, not the vastly inferior re-make on ABC!
1. Would it help if I said Edwin Starr? :-)
