THIS GROUP HAD A SINGLE ON DORE "HEY LADY".
THE LEAD SINGER REMINDS ONE OF BILLY STEWART.
ANYMORE INFO ON THIS GROUP?

I heard of them only through my brother. He has a song by them called "Temptation Walk." I think the song came out in either the late 60's or early 70's."

They had a minor hit with "The Temptation Walk (People Don't Look No More)" also on Dore as were all their singles; I only heard the one I mentioned. I never thought of it before but the lead does remind you of Billy Stewart. One, possibly more, of the members previously sang with the Superbs.
So what are you going to name your website or book, SoulPuss? You're gathering a lot of info.

Sis
"The temptation walk" is cool.
One of my favs on the label is Kennard's "What did you gain by that".
An unbelievable recording as is "My garden of Eden" by the Entertainers 1V.
Soul Heaven, and one intriguing label.

That "Hey Lady" is wonderful - like a slice of vintage Doo Wop, somehow lost in the wrong time-zone. Love it!!

Hey Sis & Scratcher, thanks for replying. I do not have any web or book aspirations. Most of the questions I have posed, are ones that I have kept in the inner core of my soul for years.
The beauty of S.D. is the convergence of true soul music lovers and chroniclers. The sharing of info is the glue that holds the site together.
There are many more questions to come.
I love Soulful Detroit.

Anyway back to the original question.
Ady Croasdell says the E4 were Bobby Swayne, Art Sibrie, Charlie Davis and Frank Monroe.
Sis, "Temptation..." reached #20, Billboard R&B.
So there you have it, all we need to know now is who Soulpuss and Scratcher are, two fine contributors to the SoulfulDetroit forum.
Thanks for that.

Finally, Lew Bedell, owner of Dore...RIP.

You are welcome Soulpuss.
DMeikle - I guess I'll look for those songs by that group. I do like the "Temptation Walk" brings back young memories.

Another Entertainers IV record, "Getting Back Into Circulation", has garnered some status as a Northern rarity.
"Temptation Walk" is a BRILLIANT record that everyone should own and is fairly easy to find.
Best,
Mark

David,
Right-on!
regards Kenards 'what did you gain by that'
a pearler(andthensome).
Great lyrics as well,
especially when he asks a guy after kicking a cat,
WHAT DID YOU GAIN BY THAT!
priceless and still very rare on Dore records (no.848 or thereabouts).
