sitting second row centre I had the priviledge to see the Brothers perform last night, to a sold out crowd in Toronto, It was the best concert I have ever seen the biggest thrill for me was to go up on stage to do the foot stomp medley with Carla. Bootsy was ill so Johnny Ingram did his songs he was amazing, grrrrrrreat great show

(((NANCY))) - good for you. Did they have any DVD's?

I wonder what's wrong with Bootsy. He is suppose to be here Friday.

I was also at this show and it was amazing. The Funk Brothers did their fake exit and came for an encore, and were getting ready to leave but the audience was going wild so they came back for a second, unplanned encore. Joan Osbourne had changed into her street clothes but came out to sing Heat Wave. I heard Bootsy Collins didn't come because he didn't want to catch SARS.

Hey Sis no they did not have any dvds as they are not being released in Canada until the 22nd, no word as to what was wrong with Bootsy, but motown you are right it was probably because of the sars

Hey Stu, been busy I just moved because there was some trouble in my apartment but I am back. I have missed you to, by the way Stu it is freezing tonight send some of that La sunshine up here please. Yesterday we had the hotest day up here since 1942 today since the Brothers left town the temps just dipped

We were in row M, it was a good time. As attractive a venue as Massey Hall is, I think the show would have had more of a party feel had it been in a more dancing and partying venue. I think 'It's A Shame' and 'What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted?' were my faves that night, but I sure wish Bootsy had shown up... still, this was among the best nights of singing I've been lucky enough to attend. Of course the playing was great, but singing seems to me to be the fastest disappearing musical talent...

Come on Erik that defintely had a party feel especially when they did songs like here comes the judge and cool jerk,

During some songs, more so during the second set, perhaps. On the other hand, people kept sitting right back down after songs... I wanted to jump up during 'Uptight' but had to settle for mouthing the words from my seat. I still had a great time, my girlfriend really dug it too, but if a similar sized hall with lots of standing room for those of us wanting a looser vibe than those Massey Hall seats had been used, I think the show would have been more of a party and less polite appreciation. Then again, I'm off to see P-Funk at a college show in Buffalo next week, those crowds usually leave me pining to sit among my a polite and tame crowd in a place like Massey Hall...
