I just got back from seeing the Funk Brothers in concert in D.C.
If you thought the movie was great, you must see the concert. It was tremendous.Although it was great seeing the singers i.e. Joan Osborne, Maxie Priest and Darlene Love, the stars of the night were the Funk Brother. Jack Ashford stole the show with his stories of Marvin Gaye- a D.C. native. I was also able to buy the DVD a few weeks early at the concert.
I brought my SITSOM book that I have had since the mid 90's and was able to get Dr. Licks to sign it. It was great talking to him and he was very gracious.
I also got the Funk Brothers to sign the book and had Babbitt sign his name on his tribute to James Jamerson page.
Hope you all get a chance to see them in concert.

Hi TD..fantastic move indeed and a future treasure to behold.
I should have brought my Sitsom book as well.
I am glad that you enjoyed the show.
They are going to be in Philly again at the end of May for a special fundraiser-dance- show and question answer session and Vonnie and I plan to attend.
