WHO ARE THE FACES BEHIND THIS GROUP. THEY HAD A SINGLE ON SEEL "THAT'S ALL OVER BABY"/ "WITHOUT YOUR LOVE". THIS WAS LATER PICKED UP BY ANOTHER LABEL. THE NAME ESCAPES ME AT THIS MOMENT.

ANYMORE INFO ON THESE BROTHERS?

I don't recall those titles but there's an LA
group who worked for a while as the Jones Brothers. If your record was produced by Lee
Silver this is the group I'm thinking of.

They grew out of the Pentagons (on Donna, Jamie,
Fleet Intl., Sutter and probably some others)
They were also the Themes on Minit. I think they were also the 21st Century on Dot.

Don't treat this as gospel - it's just off the top of my head - I'd have to do some digging
to get exact details.

There's a new CD on Kent/Ace of Lee Silver
produced tracks which has a lot of the group's
material. Check out the Ace Records web site
for more details.

That record was picked up by Bell and issued as Bell 831.

Best,

Soulpuss, this Jones Bros 45,"Good old days" shares the same backing as Nathan Willims on Lime/UA,also the flip to G O Days shares the same backing as Minnie Jones "You get to me" on Sugar, but i think this lot comes from the West coast.

Hello,

Joe Jones was the lead singer of The Jones Brothers. His brother Otis was also in the group, along with brothers Ken Goodloe and Ted Goodloe. Joe is still around, singing in several groups.

"Good Old Days" / "Lucky Lady" was reissued in the UK last year on Grapevine G2K 45-123. More info at www.grapevine-soul.com

Regards,
Paul Mooney

Paul, wasn't Otis Munson who also sang with the Pentagons like Joe Jones in the Jones Brothers too? I do believe the group had two Otis's, Jones and Munson.

Hello Scratcher,

I was referring to Otis Munson, he and Joe Jones were half-brothers.

Sorry for the confusion.
Paul Mooney
