"Don't Make The Good Girls.." has just been included on a recently released (in the UK) compilation CD.........this track originally came out in the UK as a 45 on the Action label.

Yes, that record was pretty big around here....wasn't she about 13 yrs old and from Florida. The song sound likes it was written as a follow up for Betty Wrights' "Girls Can't Do What the Guys Do".Wonder how it ended up on Arctic.

Tony,
There's a few Miami records that ended up on
either Arctic or Phil-LA of Soul. Willie Clarke used to lease some of the tracks he recorded to
national labels in the hopes that better distribution might lead to a few hits.
There's another Della Humphrey single on Arctic
- her third - a version of "Will You Love Me
Tomorrow". There's apparently a fourth single from sometime in the seventies but I've yet to find details of it.

My brother just informed me this morning that I had done a telephone interview with Della Humphrey when she had appeared at the "Quarterback Club" in Orlando.I had a music column in my high school newspaper. She had won a school talent show and Clarence Reid was one of the judges. She was 12 when she recorded "Don't Make the Good Girls".My brother had me laughing cause I really didn't remember too much about it.

Della's third single, "Will You Love Me Tomorrow
and "Let's Wait Until Dark," were also on Arctic.
The latter was also done by Helene Smith, another
Miami artist who originally recorded "A Woman
Will Do Wrong." Never heard anymore about
Della Humphrey after the 3rd release. Would
like info. on the compilation CD including
"Don't Make The Good Girls...".
