GrahamD,
I remember the Charades record,
the flip was 'Darling believe him'.
As far as I know,it is the same Charades unless someone can tell us different.
Mel.

Graham,

I think they're different groups - the Charades
on MGM were from the West Coast. The group on
Harlem Hit Parade were, in a logical world,
probably East Coast.

Thanx Davie&Mel,much appreciated,my research as led me to find that there is actually 4 Groups named the Charades! The info is taken from the Soul Harmonies 45s so here we go.
The Charades,All my Love/Bad Lolita=Charade#501.
The Charades,power of love/your with me.Mercury#72414.+You better believe it/Darling Believe him.Harlem Hit Parade#5009.
The Charades,Key to my happiness/Weeping cup.Mgm#13540+ I dont want to lose you/Never set me free.Mgm#13584.
The Charades,Cant make it without you/Love of my life,Okeh#7195.
As you can see the name as been used all over the Usa,but i bet there is a conection to the 4 groups in some form.

And straight....

From the 'vaults' of the WKNR 1968 "KEENER GOLD" came this (Viet-Nam war era) social discord number, as was sung by (the legendary 'Bad Boy') Mr. Jim Morrison:

"THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER"
-The DOORS

Would you consider "MY HERO" a war song? I can't remember who sang this song. Was it Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes? I really liked the bag pipes in that song.

Vonnie - yes "My Hero" was the old Blue Notes before Harold started putting his name out front.
It's from around '61 if I remember correctly.

Haven't heard it put have read that it was based on a piece of classical music.
