Can you demystify the Lewis sisters. I noticed you produced "So good, so right". Was this record ever released in the U.S.A.?

Hi Soulpuss..
First of all, I had NO idea that it was released!!
Where did you get a hold of it???

The Lewis Sisters were /are Linda Lewis, Shirley Lewis and Dee Lewis.
Back in '85 Billy Gaff and Bill Stonebridge of Riva Records in London commissioned me to produce the girls.
I met with them initialy at Martin Rushent's Genetic studios near Reading and then via several more meetings and dinners including a fabulous new years eve '86 party at Billy Gaff's mansion at Fitchampstead,as well as some delightful culinary experiences also at his manse.

I then proceeded to book time in Phily and had them flown over to record five songs, among them Cant wait another minute.
when we returned to London, on the day of the video shoot for that song, I was walking down Carnaby street and heard over the radio "brand new from Five Star, Cant wait another minute"
Needless to say our morale was down so we had to quickly shoot another video called If the love fits featuring boxer Frank Bruno.

We recorded four more songs in London at Mayfair, Roundhouse and Marquee and Lillie Yard studios.

All in all we had a ball and Riva was a classy operation but they did not know how to market them propperly.
We are all still friends till this day.

Hey Bobby:
I have it on a seven inch single with a small centre hole. The release date is 1987. Riva 48. The flip is "Dangerous", produced by Tom Pearce.

I can't remember where/when I picked up this record. As a matter of fact, I haven't had a look in my 45's for the longest while until last night. I did so to confirm some info from another thread. Lo and behold the Lewis's single caught my eye. I had completely forgotten about it.
Wonders never cease at Soulful Detroit.

Are these the same singers who did a lot of background work for Gamble & Huff before Barbara, Carla & Yvette? Were they on the LPs by Wilson Pickett, Dusty Springfield, Jerry Butler, etc?

Mike..
The Lewis Sisters are from London.
Linda is well known on her own especially with her album"I'm not a little girl anymore and the song This time I'll be sweeter.
The pre-Sweeties were usually the Mello-Moods/Swans who were Jean and Tina Thomas, and the late Mikki Farrow.
