Spoke to my old friend Sheila Ferguson the other day and she is doing fine and sounded great!!.
She is sending me some new material to check out.
Also spoke to radio man Carl Helm who was part of our male background crew.
He has some acts for me to check out.

Hey Bobby,
nice one.
Great to hear Shelia is doing well.

I still have her 45 of 'Heartbroken Memories' on the Swan Label(no.4234).

And her other 45s on Swan(no.s4225,4217)or
'and in return/are you satisfied'
and
'dont leave me lover/I weep for you'
are still getting spins at various soul and all-night venues.

Mel.

I'm a 'Driving me mad'/Swan fan. You could hear her voice maturing into what we know today. Another great performer with a powerful voice. You must have chatted on the phone Bobby? She lives about 15 miles West of where I live I think.

Hi Carl,
Yes, she rang me up this past Sunday, and it was a real joy hearing from her. We chatted quite a while about her current endeavors such as the play Oh what a night and some other projects. We will stay in touch I promise.

Oh! What a night! Amazing. Sheila Ferguson is perfect for the part.

I sat in a Chiswick restaurant three years ago with my wife and we heard some people chatting on the next table to us. They were talking about music and I excused myself and asked what music? They said the new show Oh! What a night. They gave me a list of the songs they were playing and I commented on a few that should not have been in there, because they were recorded years after the 'era' they were portraying. However, I told them I work for a large TV station and wondered whether they could offer a deal to our employees! They did and gave me tickets to check the show out, before I announced our our local intranet the deal at work. People travelled from as far as Glasgow and attended the show and to my surprise, I recieved emails saying how much they enjoyed the performance. Kid Creole was starring then and during the intermission two people came in and sat behind us in the theatre and I commented to them that if the second half is as good as the first, they were in for a treat. They agreed and then they introduced themselves as the possible 'Broadway' performer and manager, should the show go there. I do not know whether it did or not. http://www.ohwhatanight.com/

Hey Bobby
Glad to see the post on your talking with Carl Helm. I am hoping all you guys can create some of that magical Philly sound for the new millenium. The next step would be to figure out a way to get around the young mega type executives to rebuild a momentum to get your music to the masses. I'm thinking with the right ideas and coorperation this forum might be one of the mediums to do it.

Take care

Lonnie
