Does anyone out there know anything about the Miller Sisters? I have a CD by them (import), but, it doesn't say anything about them. They sounded like early Chantels (sort of).

I'll check later if I have a lineup for them but
for now - they were a New York based quartet
who were active all through the fifties and into the sixties mainly on NY labels such as Herald,
Ember, Hull, Rayna and others.

The Miller Sisters on Flip and Sun appear to be
a different group - again I'll check and see if I
have more detailed info.

No luck so far with finding the names of the Miller Sisters - who were actually a quintet.
They were the daughters of William Miller who worked as an A&R man for various New York labels in the fifties including Hull.

They actually made an appearance in a 1956 film
called "Rockin' The Blues" along with the
Harptones, Wanderers, Hurricanes and Teacho Wiltshire's band. The film gets a great write-up in Marshall Crenshaw's "Hollywood Rock 'n Roll"
so it just might be around on video.

The Miller Sisters were: Maxine, Vernel, Hedy, Jeanette, and Sandy Miller. They were the daughters of songwriter/publisher Henry Miller.
