Hi all,

I just reserved my copy of Standing in the Shadows.. !!!

I wanted know if there are any extra features on the dvd that are of additional interest to die hard Motownheads such as myself?

Also has anyone else reserved a copy?

Is the Deluxe version going to be released at the same time. I noticed the ad only mentioned the 2 DVD set. Or is that the Deluxe Version?

I believe the Deluxe version has yet to be assigned an official street date. I believe the plan is it will package the same two DVDs being released on April 22 with two CDs. One of the soundtrack and one of a bunch of other goodies (likely more mixes from the vault without the lead vocals a la "Bernadette" & "You Keep Me Hanging On" on the sountrack CD.

It hasn't been "officially" announced other than to say it is coming a little later than the DVD-only release.

Hello all again!!!

I just finished watching my SITSOM deluxe dvd and all that I can say is ........


AWESOME!!!!!!!!

I am happy and sad at the same time!!! I am happy that the Funk Bros. are finally getting the recognition that they sorely deserved and I am sad that it came 25 years after the fact with little help from Motown & Berry Gordy. (personal note to Berry. I know you put the whole damn thing together, but you should be ashamed of yourself for treating these guys the way that you did. I hope you sleep well at night with your money that you cheated these guys out of.)

Anyway, I love the cd and I hope that you guys will get together at some point and write a brand new cd of tunes to show everybody that you still have the goods!!!

I hope that I havent upset anyone, I just feel bad that this took so long to get out, and I am amazed that people still dont know who created the Motown Sound!!! Maybe this dvd will change that.

When Motown left for LA, why werent the Funk Bros. given some type of stipend to cover them after all of the years of music history??

I picked up the dvd today and spent several hours checking it out. It's everything I hoped for and then some......the movie by itself is well worth the price but there is so much other bonus material on the two discs that it's gonna take all my spare time for the next couple days to absorb it all. Congratulations and thank you to all involved.
