Thanks for the great comments about our new Bunny Sigler CD

Please check our site at www.grapevine-soul.com for full details of this and our other CD releases...we also have a range of limited-edition vinyl 45's featuring many of the currently high-priced dance tracks on the UK Northern soul scene.

All our releases are correctly licensed and royalties paid.

Folks in the US who prefer to shop inside the US can buy our CD's mail-order from Dusty Groove in Chicago.

Thanks

Hi Gary
many moons ago, and I mean MANY! Gary used to live in the same village in England and Gary was the first dealer I knew of who didn't jump on the Northern Soul bandwagon. What I mean by that is that in those days all you had to do was buy a couple of thousand 45s wholesale from Martin Koppel etc and set up a mail order venture. Gary used to obtain 45s from all over and his lists were different, less stomp and more Soul. Unlike most of us who have had a day job to pay the bills and kept music as an interest, Gary went out and did it for his daily bread. Support this guy, there aren't many left. Keith

Garry J. Cape,

Love the site and I'm learning about the Northern Soul thing. Could you explain how a song cut on a label in Detroit during the 60's ends up on the Grapevine label and gets played overseas and not here. How does the record industry work in that respect?

Hiram

Glad that you took the time to look up our site and liked it - now please buy something from it !!!

Which particular track are you referring to ?

I'll definately be buying soon. I didn't see it on your list, but was referring to Believe It Or Not by an artist named Nabay originally on the IMPACT label and later on the GRAPEVINE label. How does that work. I heard it was a big hit overseas, but never got air play in the states.

The Nabay 45 was released on the first Grapevine label, which was distributed in the UK by RCA.

John Anderson was the owner of the first label and is now a co-owner with myself of the current label.

The Nabay track was leased from Harry Balk the Impact label owner; in those days because of the RCA-distribution the releases sold several thousand - and they still became collectable.

The present Grapevine label are limited editions and we have self-distribution, so in years to come they will become even rarer than the earlier series.
