Soulful Detroiters:
If this label has been the subject of past posts forgive the repetition.
I know this label was the home of the Four Sonics, Andre Williams, the Dramatics and many others (Jack Ashford produced a few things for Sport). It was founded by Andrew Harris, who is deceased (I've been in touch with his widow, Gladys).
Tuff City Records will be reissuing the Sport catalog by the fall but I need to get started now with the research. If anyone has any info or recollections of the label and Super Sonic Productions please feel free to post.
Thanks!

KevGo,

I have got seven of the eleven known releases on the SPORT (yellow) label. Number series was 101 - 111. I don't know about 106. Two different records was released on 111. The Four Sonics issue was distributed by Amy-Mala-Bell records.

My info is that Shelley Haims owned the label.

BOSS (orange)...

... and SIR-RAH (red) were also part of the Super Sonic Productions group.

Well, that's about all I know about this...

Lars:
Thanks for the info & the scans.
Andrew "Shelly" Harris was the owner of Sport Records. His widow Gladys inherited the label when he died years ago.

Not to forget Joan Dovalle`s "Let Me Go". Music- and sadly also collectorswise the hardest on Sport Records. Should not have let my copy go :-(
