It was Ted Mills of Blue Magic who was stroking his black cat while doing the vocal to Three Ring Circus.

Also I have heard various "sniffing sounds" eminating from the old vocal booth that used to be in the back of studio A while a certain singer was recording the vocals on a future number one song.

Another singer that I was working with could not get a decent vocal unless she was seated at the piano while doing her vocal. She was not a pianist!!!!

I have heard a lot of "catting" on mike by certain female singers who did not know that the mike was on. As in"you know girl, so and so did so and so with so and so and girrlll, mmm...mmm..mmm!!!!you know that aint right. Wait till I tell so and so..girrrrllll!!!!"


The group Impact always recorded with candles, which is a good thing.

I have heard certain "producers" tell the rhythm section " uhh..just play something..anything!!"

I have seen a certain producer/writer/singer lle down with his ear to the floor and listen intently because that was "whee the groove was at!!"

I have witnessed certain singers have someone "subbing" for them on mike while they were out galavanting around, capice??

And all of this resulted in hits!!
