I was wondering if anyone were collecting old films/video of early Motown/GW performances? That would be interesting to see the early years. Instead of an old man having to rely on memory. :)

Funny U should ask!
I purchased a Video full of Motown acts, from the 60's variety show Hullaballoo. If I can recall, I purchased it from Blockbuster, but it could've possibly been the Video store at Eastland, Suncoast.

Kegtapper:
Like Medusa, I also have the Hullaballoo video series that contains performances by the Four Tops, Marvellettes, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Diana Ross & the Supremes and Martha Reeves & the Vandellas.

There's also a newly-packaged Ed Sullivan video series which contains several Motown artists in performance.

Rhino Home Video has the Shindig! series on VHS with tapes that are devoted strictly to Motown ("Motor City Magic"), Soul music and Jackie Wilson.

Finally, check out the Music Scene video series. This show barely lasted one season on ABC-TV (1969-70) but has rare performances with Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Lou Rawls and others.

These tapes are available at retaillers such as Blockbuster, Tower Records, Virgin Megastore, etc.

Hope this helps.
