I was just sitting here thinking to myself, "Self, can you think of any songs in which another artist (or songwriter) "borrowed " the song title of someone else's song"? I thought for a sec (most of my friends would say that must've been a lifetime) and came up with two (so far)...
"Baby, I Need You Loving" by The Four Tops
"I Need You Loving" by Teena Marie
"Reach Out, I'll Be There" by The Four Tops
"I'll Be There" by The Jackson Five
Lemme get another cup of coffee...I need it...
I think I fried something...

I had co-produced Stoney and Meatloaf's " What You See Is What You Get ". It showed promise by opening with 76 with a bullet in Billboard. For some reason it eventually tanked and right behind it came the Dramatics song with the same title produced by Don Davis which we all know became a monster. One evening while I was at home, Don called me. He said, " Ralph, the next time you release a record, call me and give me the title ".

According to copyright law, you cannot copyright a title, even if it is exact.
One of my crazy thoughts is to do an album of Christmas songs using all of the well known titles such as Silent Night, Sleigh Ride etc..
but make them totally different songs.
