Okay, dvdmike!
Where do you get this information! If you keep this up, I'm gonna have to send you a check for your work!
This is great stuff, though, & I'm learning a lot! You should be working for a reissue label with the wealth of knowledge you have (if you're interested please let me know, I could help you in that area)>
Best regards,
Kevin Goins - KevGo

Kev, I would definitely be interested in that sort of thing. I might as well put some of this knowledge to work, figuratively. The sooner the better. Thanks, guy.

I'm impressed. What a wealth of knowledge. I'm humbled. Around these parts I'm known for my knowledge of music and musicians, but you have just blown me away!. I think I'll go hide in a corner somewhere.

Don't mean to burst any bubbles but this information is found in CD booklets. I know specifically the Spinners info posted previously on another thread is listed in their two CD Anthology because I have the set.

Scratcher, I got my info, including the Spinners info from more than one source, one of which was the CD you're speaking of. Often, when you see recording dates listed, the companies tend to list the dates in which the recordings commenced, not the overdubbing dates. I try to be as thorough as possible. Of course, if I had access to label and studio logs, I would be even more thorough. But I make every effort to get as much information as I possibly can.

Mike,
The Honey Bee track by Gloria Gaynor was recorded at Sigma and I was the "bee" doing that fuzz guitar part.
At the session I asked Paul Leka about the Steam record as well.
He probably did the rest at media sound.

Thanks Bobby, that, I didn't know.

Ok Dvdmike, I know that Rhino CD booklets usually feature this type of information. Often, you can find it on their website without even buying the CD.

In addition to "Honey Bee' another guitar classic from Sigma is Jerry Butler's "Brand New Me". I don't know if that's Eli or who playing those licks , but that is one sweet under-rated hunk of guitar work.
