Does anyone have the Ed Sullivan DVD Box Set? I thought I'd get some Forum feedback before making the purchase.

Thanks in advance.

I have it. It's a bit of an odd duck, but it is worth owning. It essentially just gives you a bunch of music clip shows packaged to run as half hour episodes on VH1, so you occasionally get repeated performances or shortened/lengthened versions of the same performances across the discs. It's worth it for the Motown stuff, but there are lots of other great clips on there as well. Don't bother with the 5.1 fake stereo soundtrack, though.

If you have any more specific questions, ask away.

Regards,
Ken

I have it also. It's pretty good, but they just "cut & paste" a dvd release out of a VH-1 series. It could have been better. Worth it for the expensive price...maybe.

Yeah. It's a bit pricey, but it's still cheaper than it was when they were releasing these titles as a Time-Life subscription series. The flip side is that you have to buy it as an all or nothing proposition rather than picking and choosing. If you wanted it all anyway, though, its the cost-effective way to go.

Ken

Thanks for responding, Ken. I appreciate the feedback. I really wish I could pick and choose, as you mentioned, but unfortunately, that's not an option. Hopefully, the Motown performance alone are worth the steep price.
